OUR STORY FOR THE NEWCOMERS

HISTORY

The history of the Magic Break festival dates back to 2005 - a point in time when Istanbul started laying the groundwork for an explosive rave scene. A pact was made by a group of electro-music enthusiasts from Bosphorus University to celebrate electronic music culture in Turkey. And they were the kind of people that kept their word!

For the first time, the Magicians gathered for a whole 4 days at a sensational seafront setting overlooking one of the marvelous beaches of Antalya and the turquoise Mediterranean Sea. They were of great variety and unusual creativity, and they turned that place into a seductive and transportive oasis that allowed them to dance and be free together. The festival was visited by almost 1000 like-minded people that year, and each attendee's contribution to the communal performance was astonishing, shaping Magic Break as an unconventional project of both electronic music and actions of fun-loving, music-loving, earth-loving Magicians.

In 2016, Magic Break went through many seismic changes that, in many ways, have shaped the industry in Turkey as it exists today. Three extravagant hotel buildings on the privileged seafront location, situated at 113 thousand square meters, converged into one space to create a festival atmosphere unlike any other. A series of art and light installations scattered throughout the festival area, offering larger-than-life visual spectacles. Some of the biggest and best names from house, techno, disco such as Keinemusik, Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, and Stephan Bodzin charged the atmosphere with electrifying energy. With everything and every one part of the experience, Magic Break, with its 2016 theme Peace&Unity, explored the boundaries of space, light, and sound.

Success continued in the following years with constant sellouts, and, today, Magic Break is at the top of every raver’s bucket list as a major electronic festival destination in Turkey. It is a 4 days and 3 nights-long international celebration of electronic music, lifestyle, and seaside adventures.

Soak up all the danceandbefree vibes!
